Our Legacy & Evolution
Mountain Sports Lab is built on a strong foundation, but it’s very much its own thing.
This space has been part of the North Conway outdoor community for a long time, evolving through different owners, ideas, and iterations along the way. That history matters, but it doesn’t define what we are today.
Why Mountain Sports Lab?
We have set out to build something more focused. More thoughtful. A shop that doesn’t just sell gear, but actually helps people understand it, trust it, and get the most out of it.
We’ve taken what worked, left behind what didn’t, and leaned fully into a more precise, hands-on approach. Better tools. Better processes. More attention to detail. Because the small things are usually the big things when you’re out there.
At the same time, we never want this place to feel intimidating or exclusive. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or just getting started, you’ll be met with the same approach, real conversation, honest recommendations, and a team that’s here to help, not talk over you.
Because this isn’t just retail for us. It’s problem-solving. It’s dialing things in. It’s figuring out why something feels off and not being satisfied until it feels right.
Whether it’s a detailed boot fit, a custom bike build, or a fresh tune, everything we do is intentional. We take the time to get it right so you can spend more time outside enjoying your passions.
At the end of the day, we’re here for the same reason you are, to get outside, have more fun, and make it all feel just a little bit better.
Meet Our Team
Our highly skilled staff includes expert boot fitters, master bike mechanics, and experienced athletes—some of whom have worked at the highest levels of competition, including the Olympic stage. But beyond their credentials, our team members are dedicated riders and skiers themselves, testing gear in real-world conditions so they can give you the best advice. We pride ourselves on staying up-to-date with the latest advancements through certifications, training, and hands-on experience.
